Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This policy explains what the Lodyworks compiler apps — Python Compiler, Java Compiler, JS Compiler, Kotlin Compiler and Swift Compiler — collect, why, and who else is involved. It applies to all five apps. In this policy, "we" means Lodyworks, the developer of the apps.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the app.
- Your code is stored on your device. For Python and JavaScript it never leaves your device at all.
- For Java, Kotlin and Swift, the code you choose to run is sent to a third-party compilation service so it can be compiled and executed.
- We collect anonymous usage and crash statistics to fix bugs and understand which features are used.
- Free users may choose to watch a rewarded advertisement to earn extra daily execution credits. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
Your code
The code you write is saved in the app's own storage on your device. We have no server that stores your code, and no way to browse it.
Two of the apps execute code entirely on your device: Python Compiler uses an embedded CPython interpreter and JS Compiler uses Apple's JavaScriptCore. In these apps your code is never transmitted anywhere when you press Run.
Java Compiler, Kotlin Compiler and Swift Compiler cannot run their languages on iOS, so pressing Run sends the contents of the editor to a third-party compilation service over an encrypted connection, and displays the output it returns. The current services are Wandbox, Compiler Explorer and the official Kotlin Playground API; the app may switch between them if one is unavailable. These services operate under their own privacy policies. Because your code is transmitted to a third party, do not run confidential, proprietary or personally identifying material in these three apps.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These collect events such as "a run was started", "the paywall was viewed" or "the app crashed", along with a randomly generated installation identifier, your device model, operating system version, language and coarse region. We use this to see which features matter, where people get stuck, and which crashes to fix first.
These reports do not contain your source code, the output of your programs, or any contact details. You can turn analytics collection off at any time from your device Settings, and crash reports contain no content you have typed.
Advertising
The apps show rewarded video advertisements only, and only when you choose to watch one to refill your daily execution credits. There are no banners, no interstitials and no ads shown to paying subscribers.
Ads are delivered by Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, coarse location derived from that address, and interaction with the ad. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app presents a Google-certified consent form before any ad is requested; you can re-open it later from Settings → Ad Privacy Options. On iOS, personalised advertising also requires your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — declining it means you see non-personalised ads, and everything else in the app continues to work exactly the same.
Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy & Terms.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is currently valid; RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the App Store transaction data needed to validate the receipt.
Optional features you control
- OpenAI API key. Two features — Syntax Correction and Add Documentation — can call OpenAI if you enter your own API key. The key is stored only on your device, and these features do nothing until you provide one. When you use them, the relevant code is sent to OpenAI under your own account and their policies.
- Camera and photos. Optical Character Recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Images are processed locally and are not uploaded. The app requests photo library access only when you save a code snapshot.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because we do not hold an account for you, the data we can associate with you is limited to anonymous analytics identifiers. You may request deletion of analytics data linked to your installation by emailing us the Firebase installation identifier shown in Settings, or simply by deleting the app, which resets it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA or similar laws. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Data retention
Firebase Analytics event data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days. Code sent to third-party compilation services is retained according to those services' own policies; we do not receive or keep a copy.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes.
